Renowned film composer Leonard Rosenman, who wrote the score to Ralph Bakshi's 1978 animated adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, passed away today at the age of 83.Lenny was known for his forward-looking musical language, his innovative oft-imitated technique and his wry (and occasionally acerbic) wit... but, to those who were lucky enough to know him in person, he was a sweet-natured, wildly enthusiastic music-lover. Rest in peace.
